Attention
Spatial Design / Data Visualization / Social Awareness
This data project "Attention" to inform viewers of the objective external stimuli we face and the internal crises we need to start paying attention to.
The challenge was creating a connection between content and context, or how to use space to visualize the big data and make people feel they are in the midst of an attention crisis. The work aimed to follow human behavior to create the natural human experience.

From the news category dataset, we can tell That there are 41 categories of news headlines. From 2012 to 2018, each news category has corresponding article counts. We are easily distracted, and those external stimuli force us to break off from what we need to do, leading to a frustrating mental experience over time. For the internal crisis, I found the data on ways consumers respond to online news. 48% people did nothing after seeing that news. This means those are a distraction, and people won't take action after perceiving
the information.
